Oh, thank you so very much! I have been a Hepatitis Neigbourhood member (a site in the US) for years, but I’ll check this one out. For me, the best medicine over the years was black humor and especially American satirist Tom Lehrer’s song “I got it from Agnes” (available on Youtube). But I myself wasn’t able to make fun the last time I went through this treatment (as the video clearly shows). But when Lehrer does his song, I always laugh and get a little better. That’s a good thing.

Thought I would die from the treatment. There is no word to describe what happens to a person on those drugs. Negative for two years. Not recovered yet completely psychologically from the treaments. So sorry about your family. A veteran.
I’ve had HCV for years myself. My husband has already died from the effects, in 1989. I did Interferon and Ribiviron while I was incarcerated for 3 1/2 years. It was awful but as of 2 1/2 years ago, I was undetectable. It sucked terribly. Hope you can overcome.

I took dual treatment for a year(rebatron) only 6 months after I contracted the hcv so I was lucky to catch it soon enough and never relapsed…it’s been 7 years now and I’m cured. I wish you all the luck with whatever you decide in the future. Tough call, I know.

(Part2) 3rd time Doc had overlooked being on it for 7 months and I knew it, just thought go for broke. I was cooked, lol. Stayed clear for over 1 yr., found out it was back full fledge on 3rd yr. after not seeing Doc for 2. Now it’s been 4 yrs since relapse. Mother has few yrs to live with PAD, won’t get treatment until she passes because I can’t assist her like I should on it. But Hep C is slow killer, so I guess I got time to do again. Rolling dice I guess, but that’s life.
I feel for ya’ bud. I got Hep C. Been on treatment 3 times. 1st only interferon, 2nd Interferon & Ribavirin, 3rd Peg-Interferon & Ribavirin. 3rd try viral load being unmeasureable lasted longest till relapse. I say do treatment again someday, for it adds time. I’ll do it a 4th once I get psyched up for it. (Part 2, next post)
